morning greets all. 2-miles power walks done over an hour ago, no-band 6x42 for company. After the Ed is fed, '06 daVinci in SerJac Maxima 1/8 bent bulldog & continue with the papers. If no unusual health issues with da Mrs & no errand running, should be a quiet day. No "recovery" needed from the Christmas doings yesterday. All went well, more or less low key till time to watch the wee ones destroy the wrapping paper
31, overcast and all "green-brown" on lawns at present

Just finished two bowls of Peterson's Holiday Season 2016. I smoke this blend only the last week of the year. It is really good and I think my supply will last me another decade or so.

I picked out a pipe that I hadnt smoked in a little while, loaded it early morning in the dark with Carter Hall, climbed in my truck and drove away, lighting the pipe as I pulled out of the driveway. Apparently, the last time I had smoked that particular pipe, I had smoked John Cotton's Smyrna, and had not emptied it when done. Carter Hall filtered through Smyrna is not my first choice for an early morning smoke. But it wasn't terrible, so I finished it, so as not to waste it. But I'll be less careless next time in cleaning my pipe!
