Seems inevitable. There is nothing so likely to be taxed as commerce.

Pipes and Cigars charged me tax on an order. SP never does. Why ?

It has happened in Kansas. They even tax the shipping costs ouch!!! Well my funds are so limited now , it does not amount to anything right now.

I wholly agree. Unfortunately the government does not have a funding problem, they have a spending problem. Politicians are all too easily willing to offer services and benefits are out of their purview, and too many voters are foolish enough to believe the promises that their life will be better for agreeing to support it. |

Smoking pipes started collecting sales tax last March. P&C followed soon after.
I order from several other sites and they have not collected sales tax. I expect this to change in the near future.
I’m in NY. As much as I dislike paying sales tax, it still beats NY state’s 75 percent pipe tobacco tax!

My recent orders to SP show a California sales tax line but it is zero. I'd say that if what you say is true, Chasingembers, that would discourage me entirely from buying from them. Better to be charged the tax than to be reported to the government for not paying it. |

Guys, the ST laws passed over a year ago. If a vendor ISN'T charging you ST, it's becasue they are very small. Every State is going to be charging ST on transactions.
