So happy to add another Curtz pipe. The bamboo is briar made to look like bamboo. It still has a few minor oxidation spots right up against the bit that I might tackle. This is how it was in the store. The second photo is a restoration lesson. Notice the slight rounded edge on the stem up against the shank. The shadow gives a clear picture of this "misstep" in the restoration process. I am guessing this is from sanding but maybe one of the experts will verify that my thinking is correct.

Sweet pipe...I'm thinking that buffing may have been the culprit (separate buffing of the pipe and stem)

Well, It is either from buffing or sanding the stem without it being on the pipe.
