My wife will grab a tin, open it & smell it, she has her favorites. She puts up with the smoke (bless her heart) and only a few of the room notes. Her #1 is Captain Black Original. She loves both the tin smell and the room note. These days, I mostly smoke a Latakia & Burley blends, & she don’t get much from that. I think I’m lucky to have such a wife to let me smoke in the house. Right now it’s freezing cold outside. Anyone else get to smoke inside cuz the wife don’t mind? 🧙🏼♂️

The wife doesn't like the smell of the smoke - period. But she doesnt complain unless Im in the same room. So if the wife is home ill go outside or to a different room.

I have a room in the house that I smoke in. It is where all my tobacco and pipes are stored.
We usually end up in that room watching some sporting event or a movie. I smoke on the back porch when the weather permits. I find it nice to be outside.
If I'm doing something around the house I won't put out my pipe for it. My wife is present most of the time I am smoking. There are not to many room notes she doesn't care for. She actually likes the smell of a good English blend.

My wife seems to like the tin notes of my aromatics, but the English blends I'm gravitating to turn her off. Either way I'm not allowed to smoke in the house, a situation I was in agreement with until recently since we rent. However, here in the Phoenix Valley it gets HOT during the summer, I was limited to early morning or late evening then. Now its so durned cold I had to stop my morning regular. I just cant take the low to mid 40's we are getting anymore.. Been in AZ too long I guess.

I dont mind the extreme temps for some reason while smoking. When its up in the 90's though Id like to atleast be in the shade or on a trail in the woods. I like porch smoking in the winter though.

My wives weren't big fans of my 759 or 965 but they prefered that to any of my cigars!

My wife loves me smoking my pipes in both the house and in the truck. She loves the room note. Oddly enough, the only blend she has ever stopped, sniffed and frowned at was SWR Regular. She said it smelled too much like cigarettes, which she doesn't like. Cigars are different story. I have to reserve those for when I'm out on my own. There's no love from her for a cigar, I don't care how expensive it is.

the wife of a pipe smoker for 40+ years, my gal puts up with me smoking wherever I want, plus she's become a real good judge of briar over the years, having gifted me pipes like Nording, Savinelli, and even a lovely hexagon shaped carved paneled Design Berlin. so far , the only evil-eye I get is when I smoke blends with perique in them; I save those for outside. The downside here is she smokes those darn coffin nails like going out of style.

I lament the passing of the original Condor once you smoke that in house and the wife smells it everything else gets approval.

My wife doesn't even like the smell of tobacco. She likes some of the smokes, but would rather sit upwind. Cater hall was one of two that she commented on. The other was ilsteads own no. 55.
No way am I allowed to smoke inside... But I wouldn't want to have the house smell of smoke either, so I'm OK with that. Looking forward to the spring when I can have my pipes outside.
