My good friend, Dick Gooding, always bought two of each bottle so I already have the same collection.

So, say I buy that $1.6 mill. Macallan, then what? It’s hard to enjoy whisky that resides in a bank vault and I’m sure as heck not keeping with my more pedestrian single malts. I’m also not sure my Social, Menu, and Financial advisor would buy the whole “It’s an investment” line. I think I’ll pass.

After seeing a bottle of scotch that was released the same year that I graduated high school going for astronomical prices, I sure wish my occupational counselors in school had guided me better. 1.75L at $65.00/ Costco is in my wheelhouse.

I only drink Lagavulin and Glenlivet sooooooo...no. No bidding for me. I drank Laphroaig (when I drank hard liquor at all, infrequently) for years, until I was gifted a bottle of Lagavulin for my birthday this year. I am a convert.

I only drink Lagavulin and Glenlivet sooooooo...no. No bidding for me. No bid from me either, LOL. Glenlivet is my favorite. I'll stick to it for special occasions and Famous Grouse for all others.

I'm pretty happy with Old Parr straight or Black&White in a cocktail. I did drink 7&7's for years though.

I like a lot of scotches but anything with medium to heavy peat tastes like bog water smells to me.
My open bottles atm are: Black Label, Aberlour and Glen Fiddich.
Blue Label is the most expensive I have ever had and I loved it.

I am glad that spirits are no longer part of my life.... that said ..I do enjoy listening to what spirit people will pair with their favorite pipe and blend. I think I just found a new thread ...
