After searching for months, I finally found a present for my good friend AJ, a copy of The Jerusalem Bible, translated from the French original version.

Morgan Bones Short Bulldog inbound. I was trying to post a picture, but I'm technologically challenged and couldn't figure it out. Lol

5 Partagas Black Label Gigante from Foxcigars. Never ordered from them before, but the price was good w/free shipping and no tax.
This is my #1 favorite cigar these days.

Only thing I have coming in the mail now is a "conversion pistol barrel" I ordered in April. It's supposed to allow me to shoot 9mm from my 40 cal Walther PPQ. They thought they might get the latest batch out by the end of June. Obviously didn't.

Not in the mail, but: Went to local pipe shop near where I'm vacationing, and picked up this little Brebbia Royal Ascot lovat kinda thing. $40, I couldn't say no. Unsmoked, but it's been sitting around for awhile.

Got a prepaid Mastercard with a grand laid on it by the boss, I didn't see that coming.
I can buy a bunch of cigars with that...I won't though, I would have to buy a new humidor.

Plus the store has been there for two generations, and I like to support these places. I really like the shape though. The stem is very slightly bent, and it's fairy short. I MAY make something in the same kind of shape, since it's pretty traditional, but has a uniqueness to it.

yeah, I read that. It seems like just plain tobacco and it was cheap. I like that kinda stuff sometimes, so I figured I'd try it. Might mix it with some stoved VA and see what happens. Maybe a little 515 matured red, too.

Maybe a little 515 matured red, too. I got a pound a few years back. It's a golden Virginia that is nearly fine cut. I like it as a stand alone though it comes very dry.

8 ounce can of plum pudding. First tobacco purchase in quite a while. Come to think about it, I haven’t had a pipe in over a month.

I hope the band has a guy in a superhero cape wielding a hay fork. That's a name I would never have thought of, and I think y'all know my humor is weird. Now I want to buy some.

It definitely caught my eye! IIRC, it's a collaboration between the folks at Warped Cigars and Aganorsa.

I am trying to 'connect' a couple of amber 1890's K&P cheroots with a couple of K&P Patent bowls. This is in the mail - probably the best candidate for the fatter cheroot. I'm hoping to create some sort of 'connector' between the two. If that's not possible, I'll probably not do it.

Probably a good candidate for the post-golf smoke today (watching, not playing). Meanwhile, enjoying a pint of Guinness to work up the energy for lawn-mowing.

I've got 3. Mine look similar to yours. I think mine are UV-5RE or something like that. There was no manual with them! There is a group on the internet writing a manual but they kind of fizzled out - but now I see a PDF manual online. They are supposed to be a good radio - but have more options than you can keep track of. I have them for "prepping" purposes.

As old as I am, I'm still pleasantly amazed at how many cool hobbies there are out there that I know absolutely nothing about. That means there are plenty of great things to get obsessed about over my last however many years are remaining. Have fun!
