Ive been forbidden to check the mail, meet the UPS man or get online and check on the bank balance for days. My wife is getting her own paycheck for the first time in our 29 years of marriage, and has been giddy with excitement. She got her own money, deposited it in the account, and then got on line and ordered me a birthday present. She's terrified I would discover what it was, or how much she paid for it, before the actual birthday (in a week) and ruin the surprise. The amount of money doesnt matter, she knows that. Its her surprise shes protecting.
Well, the mail just ran, and by the squeal of delight coming from the other room, it would seem that it's here. So if I get bored, I guess I can start walking to the mailbox again.
I still can't check the bank balance, though. 😁
