Been with AT&T seems like forever, got a landline and 2 cell phones with them, just got off their phone internet, it was sorry, highest speed and when you live in a rural area its the pits. On cable internet now, amazeing, wife and I talked, only calls we get on landline is Politicans and health insurance people, you get my age and they all have a deal for you. Well we”ll see, it’s done!

We've had the same land line number for 44 years, so we are reluctant to drop it. We got a Ooma phone that goes through the Internet and keeps the land number. About $5/month. You are correct about the quality of the calls that come in on it.

Nice, I haven't had a land line for 5 years. I didn't even have it put in the house when we had it built.

I like my landline; it's still easier to use than a cellphone plus I get unlimited international calls.

Never give up our landline. Spectrum 3-1 plan for last 15yrs. TV, hi-speed internet, phone for flat rate. One cell, mine. Only use same in case of power failure at home or call wifie when coming home from h.s. track meets....not after 11pm

I still have mine, When 911 happened, I could not make a call using a cell phone to call home, but the landline worked just fine, But I also understand the frustration with communication providers, and crappy service when you have a problem.

I have kept my landline which seems expensive to me because it is usually the last system to fail. I have reported electrical outages to a dozing REC dispatch office many times. When the electric power goes out it takes the cell phone tower with it. A land line is the only available communication.
I meant to get an Amateur Radio license years ago but never did. I could have had a solar HAM station set up.

Majicjack isn’t a bad way to go you want to maintain a phone separate from the cell. There are some places where you need to leave a phone number but you don’t want to give out your mobile. Of course it runs on your internet.
Never answer it from home, but easy to screen calls and retrieve messages at home or away. I think that it is $100.00 for five years and the module is about $40.
I had let my subscription lapse and on Christmas I hit a snafu on the cell while reconfiguring from the cloud, Facebook messenger was all I had to communicate with the wife, I am going to get majicjack up and running again.

Converted my land line to Ooma about 5 years ago. Never looked back. Cheap, and you get a lot more features. They even do initial call screening for robo calls and block them. We're pretty happy wit it.
