Stolen Valor...I admit that I am guilty!

I recently retired from a trucking company, today I was picking up supplies, doing local work so I dropped in and talked to some of the guys at my previous employment.
As I made my way to the dispatch office and was talking to my buddy in dispatch, the salesman in charge of show freight (convention stuff) brought in 12 "attaboy" Pizzas and a couple cases of Sodas.
As the dockworkers filed in, one said 'happy New Years Charlie, good to see you...what's with the pizza and sodas?"
I said.."I heard the rumor circulating that I was bailing on my new job and was going to dovetail back in the roster and people were fretting over my return" The rumor was bogus, but I am bigger than that, and now that the window has closed on me returning and my pension processing is in full gear, I decided to pay it forward to you guys." They were all amazed at what a great guy that I was, and told me that I should hacve dovetailed back in and retired again so as to pay it forward.
The dispatcher that by the way is married to a descendant of Charles Peterson, was practically busting up behind the dispatch window but he played it cool.
After the rumor has had the full effect, my buddy Chris the dispatcher will return the valor to the guy that paid the price and had the valor stolen.
