Digging through the drawer that serves as the island for misfit pipes, I decided to send them off to Mike Myers at Walker Pipe Repair...these are the pipes with broken tenons, or the Vulcanite was just kinda nasty, so they didn't get smoked. As I am prone to say because I am not a photographer, the pics do not do justice...all three are estate pipes that have been languishing. The first is a GBD seconds made for Grant's Pipe Shop in San Francisco, a Corinthian shape 87...super crisp stamping...this one had a broken tenon Mike matched the stem perfectly. Next is a BBB Own make 693 with a BBB sterling silver band, it smokes University flake that takes me to another plane. Next is a Savinelli Capri Root Briar...the other two had snapped tenons this one (I believe was a restoration), had a toothmark and Mike asked me if I wanted a new stem turned...Mike is to stem repair to what Charlie Daniels is to fiddle playing, I just asked him to fix it....he never fails to deliver the goods...Yeah, I know the button is not in the picture, that is because of my lack of abilities, not his. My target is to start working through the herd and sending him 3 to 4 every month for restoration or polishing, and the ozone treatment is always added, for what the process delivers, it is a great bargain...cheaper than Everclear and a pack of pipe cleaners...not to mention my time.

Nice! I've got a whole bin of "to be restored" pipes ... what's the average cost per pipe?

If you drift your mouse over to the box "Pipe repairs" it populates a drop down menu that further breaks down the services...probably not the cheapest guy on the planet, but not the most expensive either, and his work is guaranteed, communication is stellar. walkerpiperepair.com/html/pipe_repairs.html

A little more than many of those pipes in my bin are worth but I could see picking out a few favorites ... thanks!

Mike Myers does stellar restoration work. I haven’t used his services yet, but I’ve seen several results of his work. Those pipes are going to come back to you looking factory new.

I like that BBB. That's a neat pipe. I really like that they bothered to turn the rim inward. I also like the fishtail saddle.

The silver banded B.B.B. rings all my bells . I've had some great work done at Walker's, but it was way back when Dave Wolf was still working...looks like they're still working the same magic.

I've sent several pipes to Mike Myers at Walker. He always does a phenomenal job.

Having not seen the 'before' photos, I can't fully comment, but those pipes look like new, so the refurbishment must have been stellar.
I hope you enjoy every one of them, Charlie.

Ain't gonna lie, when I read the title of the thread, my thought process went to a whole different place. When I opened it and started reading, I almost felt a little let down. :Q
Seriously though, beautiful pipes and really nice work done on 'em.

Digging through the drawer that serves as the island for misfit pipes, I decided to send them off to Mike Myers at Walker Pipe Repair...these are the pipes with broken tenons, or the Vulcanite was just kinda nasty, so they didn't get smoked. I have four pipes that belonged to my father that are in pretty bad shape. I've thought of having them restored. Then again, they're the way he left them, so I'm not sure I want them to be shiny and new. Still pondering the idea.
