just got a tin of sutliff barbados plantation. easily one of my new favs. i noticed it's a bit wet and when i smoked it there was a bit of tobacco left in the bottom that wasn't burning. how long would you guys recommend drying it out for? i've been told at least 10 mins.

Burns very cool and smooth, and slightly slow as the tobacco is a little moist. Requires some relights. Has a very consistent flavor, though it does require a little drying fresh out of the tin to avoid a wet bottom of the bowl, and also make it easier to keep lit. Don't dry it out completely though or you'll risk losing some flavor.

Drying out times can vary, whether you live in a humid or arid climate or somewhere in between.

I would put some on a paper towel and microwave for ten seconds... maybe just to where you feel a crunch on some and adjust the time on sucessive bowls.

Drying BP too much will decrease the flavor some, because let's face it...it's an aromatic, and some of that topping is tied to the moisture. I smoke this one more than any other aro, it's fantastic. Spread out a bowls worth of it in a thin layer (indoors) on a counter/table on for an hour. This will help.
