Just so y'all know a coffee grinder will perfectly chop Brown Bogie into coarse but smokeable sized ribbon for a pipe. I like BB but find it to be a pain in the butt to cut with a knife in preparation for loading into my pipes, the coffee grinder made this a much faster and more enjoyable process

I am glad that using a grinder works for you, and there are a lot of people that agree, so there is something to it.
With brown bogie, a cigar cutter cuts exactly what I need into coins that rub out easily, and a bit of time drying or nuking in the microwave gets it to perfection to me with minimal effort.
Using a knife I agree is a pain, no matter how sharp.

I use a sharp knife but then I am retired and have to look for ways to occupy my time. There are some folks who use a custom ulu like Les who is also retired. But I can see where a coffee grinder could speed things up unless it made by Black Decker like the current coffee grinder that my wife bought me. I prefer the Krups one even if the switch is broken it has a much better blade.

I have one of those somewhere. I started to use it for PPP once, but my wife said No! So it sits in the back of a cabinet somewhere in case we accidentally buy some whole bean coffee.

I just use a cigar cutter and rub out the coins.

+1 ... trailboss hooked me up with that idea and it has worked well. With a really sharp blade I can get a thinner cut but I prefer the chunkier ribbons for BB and can always grab Birdseye if I want a thin shag. A good smoke no matter how you slice it!

Someone from the patch hooked me up with that idea too. Great idea and works well with all flakes IMO. Only a 0.5s whizz does the trick.

Just don't use your good burr grinder!
I use a knife to cut BB into shag.
I use the blade grinder for chunky stuff like P&C Perique or Sutliff Stoved VA.

Just don't use your good burr grinder! I use a knife to cut BB into shag. I was thinking the same thing. I'm not even sure how that would work... It would probably get stuck in the burrs.

I use different implements. Nothing works particularly well. I have an old coffee grinder and will try that. Better than putting it in a landfill.

Palm-sized twist n turn herb grinder... the kind commonly used by Mary Jane, but not in this hut...
