Saw this morning that the old McLaughlin Group is back on the airwaves with a more or less civil discussion of the political scene. This was the group assembled by John McLaughlin decades ago. John, of course, was promoted to the Great Newsroom in the Sky years ago but Pat Buchanan, Eleanor Clift, Tom Rogan, Clarence Page, and Alexander Hefner are carrying on. It was great to see these seasoned pundits up to their old form. A reasoned discussion is always welcome. On PBS Sunday mornings.

I was always a fan of the brilliant William F Buckley and The Firing Line from 1966-1999 on PBS. A true debater who could cover both sides of any topic.

I, too, enjoyed WFB even when I disagreed with him. Firing Line has been relaunched with the Granddaughter of Huubert Heever, eh, Herbert Hoover. I find it hard to listen to as her voice is like nails scrapping on a chalk board.

WFB could strike terror in people with his very sharp pencil and clipboard

That's great news. I always enjoyed that show. I was always a fan of the brilliant William F Buckley and The Firing Line from 1966-1999 on PBS. A true debater who could cover both sides of any topic. I was a fan of Buckley, too. I have his book, "Nearer, My God", but haven't had a chance to read it yet.

Buckley loved language and used it well. I admired him for that. He was also fearless. A trust fund helps.

I try to stay up on current stuff so as to be an informed citizen, but frankly so many on either side of the aisle are so politically bankrupt, I have no desire to watch any of the talking heads. The bureaucrats, and revolving doors that continually float in and out of power are generally a sad sack lot of individuals.

I’m hoping that the second batch (that the Chinese are working on this very minute) will be tuned to infect only politicians.

I enjoy that collection of fossils. All of them.
I have listened to them most of my life so it is nice to see them still.
