This winter has been a rough one from a pipe smoking standpoint. I've only been able to enjoy a single bowl all month. Between the weather and multiple illnesses (always happens when I move to a new area), pipes just haven't been in the cards this whole month. I'm just now getting over the flu from two weeks ago, so I'm hoping I can catch a few days this week to enjoy a bowl.

If you're feeling up to it come by Burners Cigar in Huntersville on Sunday, we have a little pipe club get together that afternoon! I'll be there around 1.

I seriously considering coming today, but decided I was feeling antisocial (the curse of being an introvert!). I'll make it to another get together eventually!

No worries, it was dead as could be anyway due to the impending super bowl

I feel your pain, buddy. I can't wait until the weather changes.
I hope you recover soon from the flu though.

It's the exact opposite season-wise here in Florida. I might smoke a pipe twice between June and October because it is just too hot and buggy to enjoy.

I don't understand not being able to smoke your pipe in your easy chair in your own home. I would just give it up if it was that much trouble. The little bit that I smoke isn't enough to hurt anyone. I survived many hours in a car with 5 cigarette smokers with no harm. If you have reasons for not smoking in your home that are good for you, well, that's you. If I had to wait for perfect weather to smoke a pipe in SE Texas, I would get in maybe 4 pipes a year.

I use it an excuse to get outside and enjoy nature, even if it is only my back yard.

Moderation is the key.

My wife does (although she's got the olfactory senses of a bloodhound). I'm not terribly keen on it either. So the alternative, if I want to enjoy a pipe, is to go outside...but that's when I have my issue with the weather. But when the planets align, those times are sublime and worth the wait.

In my house, with one pipe a day, I find that the smell doesn't linger after a day. Some blends are worse than others. Old Joe Krantz isn't an indoor smoke, while Bengal Slices are fine.

I had the fire going today and took a burning block of peat out of the fire for a second to let the room get that lovely aroma... I don't see much difference between that and me smoking a pipe indoors. I mentioned that to the wife. Guess I'm waiting until spring. 😉😂

Rough winter here, too. We've had a few nights with temps in the low 40's. Once it even went into the 30's. Never snows, tho'.
