Evening gents. Wondering what the metal ring on this Ardor might be made of. There appears to be some tarnish developing and I’d like to nip it in the bud before it worsens. Thanks.

I've no idea, but I would try a little brass on it. Should do the trick.
I agree with @kramerica...that's a great looking pipe.

Thank you! Yeah, this is one of those pipes that I saw and I just had to have it. Sadly I don’t smoke very often. I guess it’s not my favorite shape. When do I smoke it, the smoke tends to go right in my face and up my nose which I can’t stand. It’s a great smoker, but I prefer it outdoors when there is a bit of a breeze to keep the smoke out of my face.

I’d try a jewelers cloth being careful not to twist the band off the shank.

I’d try a jewelers cloth being careful not to twist the band off the shank. Dave has it right. I bought a jeweler's cloth at Walmart and use it to keep the metal rings on my pipes bright and shiny.

Or even Mothers Polish if you have it on hand. Any light polishing compound will work, just don't use a iron hand in case it's plated.
