Does anyone have a special plan for the day? Tobacco your going to smoke? Pipe your going to smoke? A special place your going to enjoy your pipe? What are your plans?
I will be at my home in Arizona. But I have a few in the cellar here that are new to me, Several are easy to still get. But a few are no longer in production, And some are those 🦄 Unicorns that are hard to come by. I’m setting them out and waiting until then to decide. scared of opening some, because once the seal is broken😮. And what if I don’t agree with the hype. or worse, it’s my Holy Grail and there will be no more! But hey, I’ve got to try them sometime!

Scanning sales, looking for something I can't say no to, which tends to be a lot...

I might go to the VPC meeting at an undisclosed location just outside Hitler’s Bunker.

Some day I'll have a real shop; or at least a place that is JUST for my shop work rather than my front room... I find it enjoyable 80% of the time but, it can get a little frustrating, even stressful when things don't go as planned and you have to start over or figure out a way to over come a last minute obstacle. I wish all my pipes were just straight pots or billiards but, there not. With curves, twists, inlays, Bamboo, etc. takes careful planning, accurate measuring and a very steady hand and eye coordination which sometimes isn't all that easy for me, specially when tackling something new. Hell, just trying to keep things in my mind straight and remembering steps of things I've done 100's of times isn't easy anymore. For instance I just made a Bamboo shanked tomato, pretty simple pipe right, not today! I screwed the pooch and now I'm smoking it. Can't afford too many of those mistakes, thankfully I've only done that twice in a years time, "Knock on wood".

Don't forget when the briar doesn't cooperate. I've had an extremely frustrating and defeating month with briar quality, even the grade 2 mimmo stuff. Pits all over. 4 out of my last 6 attempts have been riddled with unavoidable blemishes and bad pits. Shanks, bowls, and chambers. One failure was due to a briar anchor popping off while I was using the shape-first method. Bit busted, and came through the side of the shank. I only get a couple hours a day, at most, to work on pipes. Such is life. On topic, I'll be working all day, then probably in the shop at night. I have no idea what I'll smoke. Right now, I'm thinking some Brown Bogie, 2000 McC #27 Matured Virginia, and maybe some Penzance - just to be gauch.
