Today was Grocery day..My wife and I went to a store..One of the things I wanted was a certain jar of pickles..I looked for them. They were way on the very top shelf..No way I could even begin to reach them..I finally found a young tall fella who got them down for me..I ask him how he expects to sell what the customers can't get...He said..It's not my store... I paid for my groceries and left..I'm looking for another place that sells my pickles.

I do so with a little flourish and lap up the attention. Otherwise, it is a dull life. Clearly, that young man is an order taker and not executive material.

I had something similar happen when my arm was to short to reach all the way to the back of the shelf for the last of the half@half. As luck would have it a younger man was able to grab it for me.

I always reach top shelf items for people. Man, woman, altitude disadvantaged or in a wheelchair. I consider it my duty to do it as I can. Someday I will need someone to reach the top shelf for me.

Half cream and half whole milk I have to watch my sexy figure. I prefer whole cream or better farm fresh cream or unprocessed whole milk fresh from the udder.

Half & Half, at Kroger I mean, is offered in fat-free and reg, plus organic, in store brands and others, in pints, quarts and even half gallons...with so many types ,in most cases ,each one only get two rows, so you always find it sold down...we used to fill it throughout the day, but it sell like hell and lots of places don't keep up. the store I retired from was one of the best markets on the east coast and we went through a full pallet of coffee creamers, half & half and light/organic milk each and every day. As to tall shelves, I hate them, shopping from them or stocking them...just a pain in the butt, and only about greed!

LoL! I'm 6'5" with a 38" sleeve length so I get hit up to reach stuff about every time I go to the store especially when I'm here in a retirement community with large little old lady population. I know that help me look so a lot of times I'll offer to reach for it before they ask.

I don't understand non-fat half and half. I call that skim milk Exactly! The thing is that with half and half you kind of know what you are getting. Any low fat or fat free is either going to have added non natural ingredients or it's going to be just condensed skim milk. Not something that I want anyway. I think most people don't think about what they are actually putting in their bodies. It says low fat so it must be good.

Yep, healthy nuts used to say I drink decaf, one method to make it and the cheapest was soaking the beans in LYE, really good for you.!
