Tobacco imported from another country or another state is subject to federal or state excise tax. Smokingpipes is passing on to you what they had to pay.

Smokingpipes, CuppaJoe and others will ship to WA with no problem. State laws don't apply to out of state businesses . That is flat out untrue. Every single online seller will have to deal with charging the correct State (and in most cases County as well) sales tax this year (and it's a HUGE pain in the butt). Starting in 2020 every retailer shipping to California has to charge state sales tax. While this seems new to the tobacco trade, most major online retailers, and I include Amazon, Nordstrom, Macy, and others, have been doing this for years.

While this seems new to the tobacco trade, most major online retailers, and I include Amazon, Nordstrom, Macy, and others, have been doing this for years. They've been charging sales tax here in Texas for a year now. Only two sure things in life, death and taxes
