I smoked a bowl of Solani Aged Burley Flake last night, compliments of Cramptholomew, and really enjoyed it.
Does anyone have a recommendation for something similar to help me find out if burley is my thing? It's possible I may have some in my cellar that I just haven't tried yet

Might try some HH Burley Flake...I find it really good and is one of the few burley blends I like alot.

I was reading old threads yesterday and saw Amphora Burley Blend recommended to someone who enjoyed ABF

Wessex Burley Slice is another good one. Also, Uhle's Blend 00 and D&R Two Timer for a "bulk" alternative. Nothing, however, is the same as Solani ABF ... you started at the top!

The Amphora Burley is really good. I'm a huge fan of Five Brothers, too. Darin sent me some Uhle's 00, and that's fantastic.
The Mac Baren HH Burley, I found a bit bitey. It's OK.
If you don't mind a light topping, Watch City Deluxe Crumb Cut is a favorite, as is Ken Byron Ventures Burlier Morning Pipe. Both of those have been regulars for a while.

I dug through my "Burley Based" stuff last night and found C&D Pegasus and I liked it too! I might be on to something!

Not sure where it falls in the scale, I have been away too long, but CD Three Friars is a Burley/VA/Per, light on the perique, very cool smoking and pleasant, you might enjoy that also.

People have mentioned amphora burley, but amphora original is a good burley blend too. I've no idea what the difference is.

Amphora Original contains burley but is a Virginia forward blend with Orientals.

Sutliff's Match Edgeworth Ready Rubbed is an excellent burley based tobacco. It is cube cut and very easy to load. It does have some sort of topping, but it is minimal. Reviews say it is a coco flavor, but I don't catch that at all when I smoke it. It is one of my favorite tobaccos in my corn cob pipes and is often with me when I am camping or fishing, for that very reason. It just fits.
