It is all audio Larry. Think of a Radio program that you really like, and they are free that you can start and stop to listen to at your convenience. I subscribe to many podcasts, some are pipe smoking, car advice, history, politics, and a whole host of others. If you download on a smartphone you can listen on your daily walks or in my case long drives... it is a great resource. Mike Rowe has a really good one that I think you would cotton to, he is a down to earth guy... it has a flavor of Paul Harvey’s “The Rest of The Story”. mikerowe.com/podcast/

I know that you worked in motor city, this is a podcast that is car related, and Russ is a phenomenal mechanic... I hate wrenching on cars, but the information that I have gleaned has been invaluable in informing me on car repairs and making decisions in that regard. www.underthehoodshow.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=results/category_id=25/home_id=25/mode=cat/cat25.htmIf you contact Paddy (Legendlover) he can point you to his sermons, and he is rock sold if you are interested in theology... my most favorite podcast.

They are radio programs but on the internet. There are various program coordination apps, like spotify, google or apple podcasts. That's just a place to look at lots of different programs and pick what you like to listen to. apple podcasts are free through iTunes and that's a good place to start.

They've been defined well in the above posts. I kinda see them as kinda like chat-radio with a few people talking about whatever they want to talk about (or sometimes as a monologue).
If you've an apple computer or phone you'll find them on iTunes. Or if you've an android phone, you can download something like podbean and you can stream or download podcasts with that (you have access to the same podcasts on both). Or, I'm sure you can stream them direct from Internet, but I've never tried that...i use them for when I'm on the go.
As for my sermons (and let's stay away from religious chat), they're just a recording of my sermons from Sunday. I'm not sure I'd classify them as a podcast.
Edit: Podbean.com can be used to stream podcasts from computers rather than on mobile devices.
