Smoking WC Deluxe Crumb Cut in a bent Kristen with a meerschaum bulldog bowl. Drinking water and watching Outbreak (1995). Ha! Good one! My wife watches it every couple of months for years now. I told her, "look this is great, you get to experience it!" Her other favorite is Twister. Being in a couple has done nothing to dampen her enthusiasm. 😁🤠

Testing the last restored Malaga, a straight big-mouthed Bulldog, with LJP Cambridge Flake. This pipe is just about perfect below the rings, but there is some burning around the rim. I might top and rusticate above the rings for a two-tone effect.
A happy discovery!
The topped rims of these oil-cured pipes assumed the outer colour almost as soon as they were exposed to the air. I was expecting them to be considerably brighter and figured I’d give them to Steve to stain, but nay! Steve said it has happened to him, but never linked it to the oil curing!
I used pipe cleaners (rough and smooth) isopropyl, Murphy's, obsidian, a supermarket-bought Revlon emery board ‘for weak nails’, a set of micro mesh sanding pads, a microfibre cloth and a Dunhill silicone treated cloth.

Astleys no. 44 in one of my most prized pipes, an egg made by Jason ( Cramptholomew). Not only is it gorgeous, it smokes flawlessly. He puts some kind of magic into these little works of art!

Still got some Pebble Castle that OW sent me back in July of 2016...I think I gave some to brother Josh, still have some left, save it for special occasions. Sunny 73 degrees outside. Smoking C&D Mad Fiddler Flake in a Peterson Rosslare. Not really liking this tobacco although the scent from the tin is pleasant to me.
That bulldog above is seriously beautiful.

Heritage in my first pipe ever...a no name, bent billiard ,ox blood stained ,with a grayish lucite stem, it came from The Tinder Box ,way back in 1978. As I grew ,in our hobby, I began to favor much larger pipes, and this guy got passed over for the big freehands...these days I find smaller bowls are just fine...just perfect ,in fact, with a coffee or two.
