Hello pipe smokers.
My name is Chris. Been smoking pipes since 1994. Started on a whim with a Dr. Grabow that I got from the PX at Camp Pendleton while in the Marines. Pipe smoking has been a really good trek so far. I’ve been reading this forum for a little while and have learned some great things from the good folks on here. Looking forward to learning and sharing more about pipes, tobacco, and life in general with all of you.

Thank you and Semper Fi. Our oldest son served for several years and our youngest is still active duty. Marines run in the family.

Another welcome from NC.
Are you residing closer to Lake Tahoe or to Sacramento?
By the way, my first pipe was a Dr Grabow, given to me by a dear friend, mentor and retired 1 Star General, back when I was an enlisted man in the Navy.

adding my welcome/greets from 50miles East of Buffalo, NY. Yes, this a great place.
Far as I know, I have "seniority" here (was 28yrs on the railroad where seniority was everything).
cheers Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY 12/29/40, pipe/cigar since '62

Welcome to The Patch and thank you for your service. My dad was a Marine in WW II. He got his Purple Heart on Okinawa. Looking forward to hearing more from you. Much respect to your dad. Was stationed in Iwakuni, Japan for a year and spent a little time on Okinawa. Okinawa is definitely hallowed ground and you feel it when you’re there.

We’re northeast of Sacramento near Folsom Lake. Haven’t smoked the Dr. Grabow in many years. Might have to remedy that soon.
