Tonight is the time for that crap again.,The good news is they tell us that this is probably the last time us folks here in Carolina will have to do it..Those up in the capitol are in the process of passing a law to keeps on daylight savings time year round..Several states around us already have..I hope we get it...I'm very tired of changing time twice every year..

Arizona is the only state that doesn’t buy into it... the horse left the barn a long time ago on this. It has been documented that DST served a purpose when the country was primarily farming, not so now.. it leads to fatigue contributing to hazards for employees and is outdated. osg.ca/is-daylight-saving-time-a-health-and-safety-hazard/No skin off my apple.

I don't mind DST myself. It signals summer is coming and I get extra daylight in the evening. I hate going back to ST in the fall, it takes me at least a month to get my sleep adjusted to it. I wish they would just stick to DST and not change it.

All it means for me is a phone call from my dad asking, "how many hours different are we now"?? I've been in AZ for over 25 years and it's the same thing every year. LOL
Note: If you travel to the Navajo Nation in northern AZ they are on DST.

Yup, that is the way it is....usually too damn hot to do much of anything...fortunately, I'm retired from the rat race, so it means that I smoke in the shed if it is too hot to be on the porch.

I have actually missed most of the good porch smoking weather. Luckily I have my recliner in front of the TV. The new home we missed out on had a beautiful back porch smoking area with built in benches.

We get enough sunlight down here as it is !

I couldn't agree more! I'd vote to abolish it. I certainly don't want it all year round.

If only you never drove out of state.... I carry two phones with me... so I always stay on Arizona time for logging hours, we have conference calls every Tuesday morning that requires us to be on Idaho time PITA. 90% of the time I am in Arizona.... at least for the last several months.

Each year I pray the Mental Midgits in our State Legilslature will abolish the clock changing nonsense. Of course, they are too weak, too dumb and too crooked to do it. Someone must be making a buck off this process.
Me? I will shortly climb a teetering ladder and reach way up for the clock on the kitchen wall. Braving the effects of gravity, the certainty of self destruction, I will reach out for the clock in order to change it.

Me?
As irrigation superintendent for our local special district, I get a lot of calls during the season. I have an ancient flip phone and that will suffice. Anyone wanting faster service can just rotate. So many of our younger irrigators are Text Happy. I have to spend a lot of time trying to type out reply messages on a Flip Phone. LOL!

My uncle Glennie has a place in Prescott and the sun shining at 9 P.M. in the evening is amazing in the summer. Time zones I get but DLST who needs it.

TN talking about not doing it anymore either. Going to cause some issues if AL does not follow. Where I live is basically on the state line.
Which means people who live in AL it will be 7 at their house when its 8 at TN and they have to be at work. So cant even drop their kids off at school or daycare and already an hour late for work in TN
Or if they live in TN and work in AL they get off work at 5 AL time which is already 6 TN time but only for half the year.
You can live 1 hour from work, leave your house in AL at 6 to be at work at 8. Then off at 5 and back home at 5 .
Or leave TN at 7 , drive thorough AL it turns to 6 to then cross time zones into GA which makes it 7 again , but only for half the year.
The other half leave TN at 7 , it is also 7 in AL but then 8 when you cross into GA.

That's just confusing...surely this decision has to come from a higher authority in order to stop this inconsistency?

The time is what it is. The sun comes up and goes down on a regular schedule, but we have to complicate everything. We have this discussion twice a year. Just get rid of it.
