Oh come on, 500lbs? Do you know how many they find up to this day in the port of Hamburg? After they defused a 900lbs bomb in the southern part of the city of Hamburg on January 20th. they found a 2000lbs bomb on the next day just a few blocks away. I have been evacuated myself a few times in my life from my home or workplace because of those duds.

wow. we still have ordinance buried in Dolly Sods. It used to be a training ground. Haven't heard of anything being found lately. Hubby wants to go look for them. *sigh*

Thank yu for your concern my dear friends. The bomb is in Thessaloniki which means 303km in straight line and 503km by driving from Athens. As they digging they almost touch the bomb and by few mm we didn't had an accident-thank God. Nevertheless i thing the authorities overacting a little bit by extending so much the range of peoples removal.
As for the bombing there was another one in Peraeus at 1944 again from american and british aeroplanes [as in the Thessaloniki with that bomb] and we had 4500 to 5000 civilian casualties without a reason! More in a future post.

Latest news: The bomb has been disarmed and carried away for the rest of the work in the shooting range, everything is OK now and the civilians can return back home with safety.
