This has been something on my mind for awhile now and with all the craziness reckoned now was a good as time as any to ask, but I'm interested in starting a pipe club once all this virus mess dies down.
As far as I know, there are no pipe clubs in the Roanoke VA area. Closest thing would be a cigar club I think sponsored by Milan Tobacconist.
First question, are there any of you on here that live around here that would be interested in a pipe club?
Second, should I find sufficient interest, how exactly should I go about starting a club?
Third, should I successfully start a pipe club, what would be things to do?
My thoughts are to head to Milan's and talk to them about it. I figured it not only a good way to drum up interest, but could see if they would be willing to sponsor?

How about a virtual pipe club? In these times of social distancing, perhaps an excellent idea. Maybe on Skype. You certainly would reach a wider audience.

Richmond is a small trek for you but the Richmond Pipesmokers is a pretty good sized club with a lot of good people in it including our own forum members. Some of them drive 2-3 hours to get there. Just an idea.

There already is a kind of virtual pipe club here: the Chat button above takes you there. There are a handful of regulars, from as far as Australia. Usually nobody shows up till about 10:00pm EST or EDT.

^ Add a video connection and one can bring "virtual" into the 21st century....

Virtual is all fine and well, and if it is all you got, it is all you got...but there is no substitution to a live pipe club.
