If you get a chance type us out a favorite memory of him. We can all read later tonight and have a toast towards his memory.

I still see my daddy coming in the front door and reaching down to pick me up. I can't wait to see him again.

mine passed in '72. Kinda complex but gave him an A- . Was wrapped up in atoms/molecules . Was ranked #4 on list of those involved in the "Manhattan Project" in WW2. Robt. Oppenheimer was the chief back then. Overall, a good dad

My dad sucked in a lot of ways, he was a pretty good example on how not to be a father, and that informed me on how to conduct myself oppositely.
But, I understand that things happen for a reason and that providence plays a role beyond my understanding.
He was my dad though, and I still miss him.

My Pop would have been 100 last year, he passed from a massive heart attack back in 1975; he died in my arms. at age 56, I was 22. Seems to me those old school gents could do just about anything...build it ,fix it or grow it ,my Dad had it covered...
That said, as a teen, I was way too smart to learn anything from someone so old fashioned ...even tho we were best friends,I didn't figure out how truly wonderful he was till it was too late.
sometimes the biggest lessons are the hardest to learn.

Very blessed indeed. Happy birthday to your pops. My dad would've been 99 this December; he passed from cancer in 2011. Family man / Christian / Navy WW2 / GM blue collar / enjoyed a cigar or pipe on the weekend. I miss that ol' guy every single day.

I'd wish I'd have spent more time with my dad's father. He knew everything. He could weld aluminum with Oxy/Acetylene, which I've tried, but it's near impossible. He could build or fix anything. Unfortunately he had a series of strokes when I was in highschool, and never recovered his speech or motor function. I was too young to appreciate his wisdom.

My Dad passed at 56 (2005) and I was also 22, his heart had too much as well. He was a west Texas cowboy, as tough as they come. Fought some serious shite I won't go into, but my Dads wisdom visits me almost daily. Here's to the Dads that made us who we are!

My Father would have been 101 yesterday...thoughts of my Mom and Pop make me sad that I never had kids...when I go, only photos remain of my folks...just seem so unfair for such sweet people to just fade away on the up side, memories of the wonderful times we shared make me smile almost daily.
