I'm not a huge of C&D's small batch projects. It just seems like a way to create a need for something that isn't really needed. The last couple I have bought two tins to test them out and I was not impressed, so I won't be wasting my money any more.

I don't buy C&D baccy. I have a few tins that have been gifted to me but I usually re-gift them.
Since I cellar and age my Virginia's I can't take the chance of mold.

Could be an opportunity to supplement your 401k.
Some dude on another forum is selling the Carolina Red Flake they offered last fall for $18. It sold for $10.

I just cracked open a tin of 2019 Carolina Red Flake the other day. Totally underwhelmed. I'm not even on the fence over this new one. Hell, this year's Sutliff Cringle Flake blew the CRF out of the water. The only C&D small batch BS I've liked is Sun Bear. It's actually really good. It just seems like they use crap Va, and tin it young, too. Just about every C&D blend I've had was bitey for at least a year. Their balkans, and some English blends are pretty good, and some of the Burley blends. Still, they all need age.

At the price I think I'll pass on this one...the last C & D product I purchased was Bijou, and I like it,but it was 16 bucks a tin... there's just too many great tobaccos out there in bulk for me to shell out retirement bucks like that; Watch City comes to mind. You young guys can pick that stuff up and think of it as an investment, but these days ,I'm ageing faster than my tobacco. I just thank goodness I have a still have a few older C & D tins i picked up when they could be had for 6 to 8 bucks.

Mostly out of the pipe and tobacco game myself. Hard pass. Just another collectible for unscrupulous scalpers to gouge prices on.

Don't know who I have less respect for, the scalpers or those willing to pay.

I get that part of the price goes to support the shows; it just doesn't seem that long ago when the price was 4 for $32 or 5 for $35...truth is, it's been twenty years! Times have changed, and come May, they might change again...i hope we don't end up looking back on 10 to 15 dollar tins and thinking " those were the days"

I caved...10 cans on the way. Oh well, so much for willpower. I did too. I eat crow. Only 2 tins, though. One to try, one to sell for $50 in two years (probably not, but whatever. I like to THINK I'm a shrewd scoundrel sometimes. My heart's just not in it, though).

I picked up 3. 1 to try and jar, one for later, and 1 for way down the road. The same thing I do with all of the small batch blends.

I miss being able to get full one pound bricks of Black Frigate for under $30 directly from C&D before the Laudasi buyout. I also remember buying my first Savinelli pipe in the early '90s for $25. Just glad I'll never have to buy any more tobacco or pipes.

Since a lot of vaper ‘s are not my go to. It was easier to pass on this. I bought 3 tins of the Carolina Red Flake. 2 are DEEP in the cellar. The one I opened, well 😑 meh. Nothing special. Will see what age does. In my 4 years. I have now learned not to get all wound up in the hype. Like the 4 tins of CD Sansepolcro and 3 Father the Flame in the cellar.

In all reality if you were to purchase one tin at $10.00 plus shipping and taxes you could easily have $18.00 in a tin and all the B&M's I've found C&D blends at sell between $17.00 and $25.00 a tin. I had some Sun Bear at my pipe club and a guy offered me $30.00 for a tin, I told him he could have it for $15.00 but he insisted and I sold it to him. I did pick up 10 tins. First tobacco I bought since January.

I passed this time around, the addition of Perique had me hovering over the mouse. In the end, I bought some MacB Burley flake, because once it's gone, it is gone.
I have more tobacco than I can ever smoke, but I know that I will be bummed when the last of so many blends are out of circulation, I will be regretting that I didn't buy more of some post 2007 blends.
