Yesterday a UPS Driver delivered something to our house. Living on a farm they park off the Hwy close to the house. On the porch he came in the yard, staying the required Corona distance and flipped the package to me. I told him you and others like you are the real hero’s, you, my son leaving at 5:30 in the morning for surgery at the hospital, you doing this and letting us stay at home, I’m so proud of you. I think he was stunned, in a quavering voice he said Bless You.

city living on major state hi-way, lots of truck traffic to I-90. Adding to your many thanks, occasional FedEx & UPS, another brand of "heros". Short walk from sidewalk to USPS large mailbox, can add them to the mix. Bravo to all the above

Not much UPS or Fed Ex home delivery out here anymore. Most everything goes to the local PO and I have to retrieve it.
the dumbest wasyears back when I ordered four brand new 55 gallon steel drums with lids for gain storage. They were sent by USPS and was the rural mail driver mad!!!!

Hi Ed, Can you put that Epoca and a pound of CA on your front step for me to maintain social distance? One thing I'm hoping will come out of this crises is a living wage and health care for essential workers.

I always thank the delivery drivers and the post lady. She brings my mail to my door instead of the box and the UPS driver told me to have a blessed weekend. I like to keep my credit score high where it counts. I show my appreciation.

I was dropping out of Cloudcroft NM last week into Alamagordo, and several oncoming cars flashed their lights and gave me a thumbs up as they were headed uphill, that was nice. Although I was passing through from Artesia, and I wasn't servicing their community the recognition was nice...their stores are dependent on truckers.

Amazing how the things we took for granted before are real standouts now. Many people out there living up to their responsibilities despite the risks. Ran into my nephew's wife at the local market. She's a nurse. She looked tired and worn out. Said she was moving their motor home into the driveway so she could stay there and not expose her family. She's working long hours 7 days a week. Her husband (my nephew) is highly susceptible as he recently went through cancer treatments. She has a small child that sickens easily as well. Yet she's at the hospital every day doing everything she can to help those that need it. These are the Americans I admire. If anybody thinks we've lost our core values, think again.

Around here other than emergency care health care has been shut down for almost a month. There's been some staff and professional layoffs. My son and his wife are RN's at Mayo Hospitals in Rochester, MN, his hours are cut back in Critical Care but she hasn't been effected in Labor/Delivery. I live with in a two miles of two medical centers and some of the parking lots are empty.
