As far as I can tell, those are the only two that will be hit. If that's the case, I may stock up soon just to keep a tin or two around...you know....in case.

Here we are 4 years later, and these past 4 years have been no different than the 4 before that. Or the 10 before those. Or the 20 before those 10. We've lost McClelland, the U.S. Lane Limited company closed it's doors, several B&Ms went out of business, and a few carvers threw in the towel. Were no businesses, blends, and carvers going away before 2016? Of course they were. Companies, products, carvers, etc always go away over any stretch of years. That's just the way of commerce in any industry.

I cannot disagree with her, to list 700 blends to a guy that gets free tobacco for his pipe club from her would be a waste of time, but she did tell me to ask about specific blends, that is fair.

If you decide to send her a list with specific blends could you please inquire about Match Holiday and Presbyterian aswell?

I will be glad to..give it a few days and whoever posts a blend I will send the questions in.

In '91 when I first started smoking I had the foresight to see this and began collecting tobacco not so much for availability at the time, but knowing prices would go up. Present legislature has directly caused some of the market's recent losses. Tobacco producers and carvers alike are being faced by the same scrutiny of the deeming. A few decades ago tobacco companies would leave the market because of competition and there remained a high demand for the product. Smokers are the minority now and public opinion is weighing heavy on the market.

Smokers are the minority now and public opinion is weighing heavy on the market. No matter the reasons. My point remains the same. The years before 2016 were no different than the years since in the sense that blends and businesses come and go while prices go up. Those are things we discussed in the 90's too. That's what I was referring to in the original comment you quoted when I said... "Here we are 4 years later, and these past 4 years have been no different than the 4 before that. Or the 10 before those. Or the 20 before those 10." The fact you saw the need to stock up nearly 30 years ago shows how little things have changed at the center of it all. Which is all I was originally trying to say.

Which is all I was originally trying to say. I started stocking because of seeing prices rise early on as I stated. Seems you're more interested in arguing than reading entire posts so I will leave it there. Good day.

I posted my views on my original post in this thread. I even included a comment "I respect that YMMV"....acknowledging that others will have different experiences.
Any subsequent posts were meant to clarify my original point only because I was being directly quoted. I never accused anyone of being wrong.
But I'm more interested in arguing? It was just a discussion to me. But, whatever.
I'll just go away again. I should have learned from what I saw going on around here the last time I came around.
Cheers everybody. Happy smokes.
