Tested homeblend recipes made from scratch

I am a huge egotist.  If I try something, my immediate reaction is "I can make it better."  On average, his turns out to be true about 10% of the time.  


I love discovering from-scratch blends, but there are VERY few out there that don't start with a well known blend tossed together with other well known blends.  These are usually delicious, but not exactly what I'm into.  Here are some blends I've made over the years (some I've made for many, many years) that turned out to be part of that mystical 10%.  All recipes use "parts" instead of ounces or percentages.  These are geared towards my own person tastes...but hey, that's the point of mixing your own.  As you'll see, I LOVE burley and perique.


Happy Camper (my friends' absolute favorite Balkan Blend)
5 Burley
4 Latakia
3 Smyrna Turkish
2 Red VA
1 Perique

English Bob
6 Burley
2 Red VA
1 Latakia
1 Smyrna Turkish
1 Perique

Dark & Stormy 
2 Burley
2 Green River Black Cavendish 
1 Smyrna Turkish
1 Perique
*Spray liberally with black rum and molasses mixture (50/50).  Let dry and age for at least 3 months.  Perfect smoke at 6 months.

Antoinette's Just Desserts
2 Burley
2 Chocolate mousse
1 Smyrna Turkish
1 Bright VA
1 Perique

Tilley's Hat Blend (as close to a Virginia Blend as I can get)
3 Burley
1 Bright VA
1 Red VA
1 Smyrna Turkish
1 Perique 


Take these recipes with a grain of salt.  They work for me, but may not for you.  I buy all my tobacco through pipesandcigars.com.  Great company that always delivers a quality product quickly.
