Wow that's pretty neat. They're some meers styled like this right?

This style is very common in meerschaum, but not so much in briar. Especially from this time period. π

Have to decide what blend to start it off with tonight. I am thinking Sutliff Crumble Kake Virginia.

Wow that's pretty neat. They're some meers styled like this right? In fact I have a more elaborate version of this in meer that I smoked just this morning. Never seen it in briar though. Looks amazing!

That is a beautiful pipe, and it looks like you did a great job of bringing it up to snuff...I agree, that is a common carving in Meerschaum, not so common in something so old. There is something magical in smoking a pipe so old...if they could only talk.

That looks like it could have been a tricky restore - what will all the nooks and crannies in it. Great job!

Have to decide what blend to start it off with tonight. I am thinking Sutliff Crumble Kake Virginia. Love your restore. I recently restored a CPF briar and started it off with Penzance. I felt it needed something exotic. Glad to hear you are smoking yours - mine smoked so well that I've added it to my rotation. I have another CPF 'best make' bulldog bowl that I need a stem for. I've been picking up old amber-stem meers on ebay, but haven't found one that's a close enough fit. I haven't yet figured out how to upload images - perhaps I'm too new a member?

But I don't see how to upload images straight from my computer.

You have to upload to an image storage website, then link. I use Imagur. It's free and easy enough to use.

I participate in discussion forums, but that's it - no social media, no cloud, no web-site, no image storage. But I get it and I'm absolutely not complaining. I don't have any pictures that are that important anyway, so no loss for the rest of you!
