Saw The Children Of Windermere night before last, 300 children after WWII, taken from the death camps and housed in England. Never thought about the kids, it really affected me, as I grow older I cry easier, used to be made of stern stuff, not so much nowadays. The first time they served them bread they all jumped up and grabbed , then ran to their rooms and hid it. When first at dorms they were asked to disrobe and be deloused, I thought of what they saw when they first got to the death camps. I know this isn’t a subject with the current situation, but I have to spit it out. Sorry for being the Debbie Downer.

Tears come easier when you don't have to be a bad arse anymore.

Brad, it affects all of us.
What those children went through......
Recently, a neighbor lady passed. She was a child in Silesia during the war and spent years in a concentration camp. Her crime was too much Polish blood in a German Reich citizen. Silesia is between Prussia and Poland. She grew up to be bi-polar in a way. One minute an overbearing German lady shouting commands, another moment a fearful, cowering fugitive. She did her best, raised four sons and a daughter, all of whom turned out to be good people.

Back in the sixties I worked with a Jewish fella who survived a death camp.He still had the numbers tattooed on his arm..He couldn't talk about what he went through..He did tell me that the happiest day of his life was the day he saw American soldiers coming down the road.

My high school French teacher was a death camp survivor. She wore a heavy wool ankle length wool coat always. Winter, Summer and indoors. Got to realize I grew up in Southern California so no real winter to speak of. She was small, thin and pale. Once in a while you could spot the tattoo on her arm. I asked my dad about it. He was a WW2 Army Air pilot, and he explained to me. From then on when the others kids joked about it, I couldn't say anything. My dad didn't hold back on the story. He figured I was old enough to know the truth.

I was told that the uniform was Hugo Boss inspired uniforms, and he created the SS uniforms. I am not saying that the NJSP are Nazi inspired, but I think that the uniform sure has that look to it.

Holy Crap! No wonder they don't want you to have guns there! I would run out of ammo!
