I agree with Peteguy, And a Dunhill would have stampings unless someone went wild with the buffer.

Not a worry for me. I have never really paid attention to Dunhills. So when I saw the dot was just curious if it was. 😀

I have a meerschaum billiard with a white spot, and have not been able to determine if it is a Dunhill either, but it is a great smoker!

Well, I have a Dunhill Black Dress Billiard from '95 that has a thin, silver ring just like that. However, the spot looks more silver than white and the bit doesn't look quite right, IMO. It may be a transitional stem--somewhat between a fishtail and a spade bit; Lord knows Dunhill was known for making variations--but I would be dubious until I could look at whatever stamping is available.
Just my $0.02.

Pretty sure it is silver also. So the mystery of what it actually is will have to wait. Hopefully I will have it in hand in about two weeks.

ironclad = Your Dunhill has a silver ring as you stated. The pipe in question here has a aluminum metal piece like a Grabow has. Ive seen hundreds of the aluminum ring things and most of them have the same dirty aluminum look as this one.

Nope. Not a Dunhill. Zooming in the pic on my phone, I can see the top part of stamping on left side of shank. Definitely not Dunhill stamping.

It's a shame it isn't, but you've still got a good set of pipes there to play with.

Speaking of Dunhill, I have just learned something new about them. I have a 1926 Dunhill Bruyere Patent Inner Tube and a part of the bit broke off. In researching where to send it to get a new stem made with the White Dot, I found that I had been believing the myth that the White Dot was made from Ivory. The old White Dots were made from cellulose.
