You guys are right about some Chicagoans thinking "Southern Illinois" starts well North of Joliet! How central?? Champaign? I used to live in Livingston Co. Decatur (~40 mile west of Champaign/Urbana, ~40 east of Springfield, ~40 south of Bloomington/Normal) I grew up near Peoria, went to school in Eureka and Bloomington and have family in Taylorville and Sullivan, IL. However, it's been Arizona for the last 25 years and that's where I welcome you from!  |
