Today, someone on a pipe forum mentioned that today would be the start of the Chicago Pipe Show, except for the virus. Thus, I decided to have create the Smoking Tent experience in my shop / smoking lounge. Here are my tools. I opened my oldest tin, Cumberland from GL Pease. This was from 4/3/13. Guess what tobacco I will take to the first CPCC meeting, to share, after we can get together! I also took some Baklava tobacco. The olivewood pipe was purchased at the Friday smoke and swap. The other pipe is from JMG, a missionary on the other side of the world. The tamper is from Dead Guy Pipes. Today, we have beautiful weather! Warm and Sunny. Definitely time to get out of the house. It is also fun to smoke indoors! I really wish I could have invited y'all to join me, but two is OK, three would be crowded, and 300+ would not be possible. Anyway, I hope y'all find time to enjoy a pipe today. Try to get a friend to join you. I look forward to meeting everyone in a year! Winton

Winton
I have gone to the Chicago pipe show two years in a row. I am sure missing it this year. Two years ago I met you at the Sunday morning Bible study you had. I enjoyed the Bible study and I really enjoyed the pipe show. I feel bad for all the organizers of the event, especially because of all the work put into finding a new venue. I plan to go next year in full force to make up for the lost time this year. I think I will hold my own slow smoke contest this afternoon. Take care everyone, especially you Winton and the other members of the Chicago pipe club. Steven

We had company today. So my wife and daughter played with the babies. My son and nephew joined me in my garage for a pipe or two. Good times had by all. Just like we were in the tent!

Awesome, John!
Thank you for touching base on the forum and keeping us updated to all the twists and turns regarding the show, although I have never attended the Chicago pipe show, I sincerely appreciate the updates that allow me to be informed. Count me in on your Bible study if I can make it to Chicago.

Last year was a difficult year. We had a short time to find a new location. It was like getting a 747 off the ground with 1/4 of the runway. Then this blasted virus showed up and everything blew up. The reason I made this post, was that I found several post on the forums that they were missing the show. Mostly it was about missing the people that they hung out with at the show.
One of my constant requests at the show, is that when people introduce themselves in the tent, say "I am John, but go by Winton on the pipe forums." Suddenly, the other guy will realize that they already know you and can introduce me to others from forums. I have lots of friends that I have known for many years, the I only see for a weekend at the show.
