Hi all, One of our own guys, an amazing man - peteguy - has created a pretty amazing pipe. What makes him even more amazing is that he has offered this pipe to be used in a silent auction, the proceeds of which will pay for the ongoing upkeep of the Briar Patch. Take a look at his creations, below, and then the rules of the silent auction will follow... Here's how the silent auction will work...If you would be interested in buying the pipe, send me a bid by PM. In other words, send me a PM telling me how much you would pay for this pipe (think, 'how much would I be willing to pay for this pipe in order to support the Patch'). The highest bid gets it. It's a simple as that. I'll leave the auction open for 1 week. So the closing date for the auction will be midnight on Thursday 14th May (your time)...i.e. when I get up on Friday morning I'll close the auction. To claim the pipe, just use the PayPal link on the Patch Front Page and pay for the pipe TO THE PATCH. When Justin receives payment, We'll instruct peteguy to ship the pipe. Happy bidding, folks.

Thanks for setting this up and go patch! A few details:
It came from a briar block pre drilled kit. No idea where the kit came from as it was in a lot of pipes. It has a few fills and a carnuba wax only finish (no stain).
6" long and the weight is 1.3 ounces. Inner bowl height is 1.45 inches. Inner width is 3/4 inch. I tried to do a inner bowl coating but it kinda sorta failed on the bottom. I used cake dust and water and rubbed it in with my gloved finger.
I do not carve pipes very often as it is a shite ton of work in my opinion. I hope it finds a nice home and turns out to be a wonderful smoker. Thanks again to the organizers, to sparks for the site and to any and all who submit bids.

IMO, peteguy did a bang up job on this, especially for a kit pipe. It might have been a shite ton of work, but this is a spectacular pipe for someone who hardly ever does it. Good job in it, my friend!

Thanks guys. I just saw this thread. You guys are all amazing, and we are lucky to have you here, especially our amazing management team. Thanks again. I agree 100%. had I the spare cash I'd be making a significant bid just because you guys deserve it! I'm on a handful of forums, this one is one of two that doesn't make a point to push for funding. You keep it just for what it was for, a social gathering place. I appreciate that a great deal. Thank you to the moderators, you Sparks, Peteguy for the donation to the cause, and everyone who bids.

I made a direct contribution a year or so back. After this new house is settled, I will make another. This site is important for me.

Well done, CrustyCat. Your donation means a lot to The Patch and you get a great looking pipe to boot. Happy smoke rings with it. Also, a huge thanks to peteguy for his generosity to this site and its members.
