I used to get coupons from Lane that allowed me to purchase pouches for one dollar each; I always had the white, gold and royal on hand back then. These days I only buy the Royal, it's a softer and more earthy smoke, and for me it mixes with other blends better than the white...it's dark enough that I don't feel a need for the Dark too, but I'd like to try the Grape and the Copper someday. so far, I've only seen the Grape and the Copper on line, and when I'm online ,I'm usually after bigger game.

The Grape isn't awful. It tastes like it is topped with Grapette soda, and it is good for a change of pace for someone who likes aros. I certainly wouldn't smoke it everyday.

I've smoked a lot of White over the years..Mainly because no matter where I went I could find it for sale...I used to keep a pipe and a pouch of White in my desk drawer at work in case I forgot to bring something from home.

Very few aromatics I care for.

To each his own, Captain Black has a great room note. I highly recommend it as an odorant.
As a smoke, it sucks... the great smell does not translate to great taste.

You suck! 😈 Coming from a guy that gave rave reviews of Captain Black Corn. I shaved my toe corns down for the topping, fermented the tobacco in my socks.

CB Copper is decent and worth a go, that is if you enjoy burley, black cavendish and Virginias with a fairly well managed top note. The tobaccos' natural flavors are present even as the blend favors the burley. It also does not suffer from a strong chemical taste some OTCs are noted for. The aromatics I smoke (I am mostly a nonaromatic smoker.) typically use a toping to enhance a blend and take care to not overwhelm the tobaccos. Though I do not put too much weight in reviews, a 3.3 rating (at tobacco reviews)is rare for OTC blends and gives some credence to the blends appeal. Our respected JimInks gave it a four (out of 4) star review. www.tobaccoreviews.com/blend/9754/lane-limited-captain-black-copper

I wouldn't want anyone to send me a sample. In a hypothetical situation, if I was visiting one of you in the States, and you opened a tin of it, I would perhaps ask for a bowlful to try. That's about as far as it would go.

I enjoy most all of the Lane blends (the exception is HGL...nasty) but the RLP-6 is great. I bought a can of the Grape and it is the only tobacco The Girlâ„¢ (ie. the 15 year old arbiter of all that is acceptable/unacceptable) will tolerate in her presence.

The thought of putting the words Grape and Tobacco together in the same sentence makes me want to gag.

I smoke Lane Ltd. "Captain Black" all the time. The Lane Ltd bulk version is "RPL-6" Nice and mellow. Even nicer: try Lane Ltd. "HGL". It's "Captain Black"-white/"RPL-6" with some Latakia.

Still, it tells you that it's a pretty good blend.
