While I haven't been on in a while...I just noticed, after checking Ron's website, that if you are in the market for a GREAT pipe...this is the time to check out RdPipes website...HUGE SALE.
We have some great carvers on this site...and Ron is certainly one of them...and you know I am a big fan of great local carvers, but as Ronv69 has said...this is the time to get one of Ron's fabulous pipes.....just adding my .02 cents worth.

If I weren't already up to 8 pipes from him, I'd be adding one of these for that price.

His style and craftsmanship has always been outstanding. His pipes smoke like the proverbial dream. A 7-day set of Ron's pipes would cause me to sell off the other pipes (with the exception of Cramps pipe). Yup, even my beloved old Comoys would be for sale.

Yep, between Ron and Jason's pipes the only other briar seeing any smoking time is the Radice. I do still smoke MM Cobs close to 50% of the time though ... just can't beat them stuffed with Burley.

This fellows been on his site since February and at that price, I'm biting. Yeah, at that price you can't beat it. I really like it but packing 5 boxes and still having more to pack is eye opening.

Still too pricy for me, not that I think they're too expensive.
I hope he does well here. He was struggling for a while.

He's doing fine. He just had a bunch of pipes that weren't selling. He smashed his thumb and won't be able to make any more for a few days.

I have one RD, and it's a great smoker. Does anyone know why he left the forum? I miss him.

If it was just one person I'd personally just ignore it. I miss seeing his work on here.

I knew it. I can be a real pain in the arse. ...now go and apologise! Ron is a great guy and makes beautiful pipes - my next new pipe will probably be one of his. It's a shame how one bad apple can kill your enjoyment of a forum. I'm here for the same reason that Ron is elsewhere, and it's sad to hear I won't get to have discussions with him here. By the way, I think it's good that the perpetrator is unknown. I had a horrible time with a moderator on a forum twenty years ago, and eventually gave up and left his forum. I heard from him last week (he had forgotten who I was), asking me about something else related to the forum, and we had a great exchange. He actually seems like a great guy. People make mistakes, have bad days, grow up, whatever.

I always do. Opted for the buzz cut after the factory hit 110°F a few days ago. The last time I took a trimmer to my head it looked like this. I like the way you've listed so many tobaccos in your profile. As a retired programmer, I've wondered how feasible it would be to create something where you could input a list of tobaccos you like, and have it spit out some recommendations. I have a plug of Salty Dogs I was thinking of opening next - it's looking like a good idea now, based on the rest of your list.
