I have a couple of large chunks of goat that I was supposed to cook with a friend who is a professional chef. When the virus hit we had to call off those plans, so I'm thinking I will take it on myself. No idea what I'm doing, but it's meat and I have a grill, so we'll be good. Goat is usually low fat. So, you might want to marinade it or serve it with a sauce or salsa like Pico de Gallo.. Good folded up in Pita Bread or Tortillas. Yogurt based sauces are also good.

I'm going to thaw it out tonight and then get the marinade going.

Used to get a big striped watermelon real cold with a round hole cut in it with a opened bottle of vodka pushed in the hole. Man that was a good watermelon. An old preacher friend of mine used to tell stories about when he was a kid they somehow put in a line in the stem with a tube in a bottle of liquor or vanilla extract and the watermelon would suck it in as it grew. I was a little young to understand the process. I have heard of watermelon spiking, but I had never heard of that process, Ron. I would think that the alcohol would do a number on a growing watermelon. I think now that you are out in the country, you need a new project.đ

I do like that part where you Yanks put mayonnaise on potatoes and call it a salad... Wish I did - I'm a 'mustard potato salad' guy. Mayo sort of works on red new potatoes (the creamy ones) with the right fresh herbs, but to me it's still not-so-great.

I make a potato salad with mayonnaise, I always use red potatoes and use the best foods/ Hellman recipe for classic potato salad.
I have had quite a few people tell me that although they donât care for potato salad, they find mine exceptional. Not my recipe mind you, I just follow directions.
Commercially made potato salad, yech! Even most deliâs arenât very good.

I love potato salad. Mayonnaise, Mustard, the sour cream variety, eggs, no eggs. Parsley, red onions. Red potatoes make the best but Gold or Russets are also acceptable!!! Great stuff and just about as fattening a food item has ever conceived.

Vegemite is Australian. We have Marmite. And it's awesome. But not on potatoes. And it wouldn't make a potato a salad.

Well I have tried both disgusting products and you should have tasted my mom's potato salad. And we use mustard with only a little mayo. German potato salad is also very common in Texas and it is wonderful when done right.

Thanks! I just cut into the main brisket, ( the meat above was the deckla) and although I smoked it with Hickory chips, there isnât much of a smoke ring. That is fine with me, as I didnât want it to be too smoky, just a hint. By far the juiciest brisket I have ever cooked. The sliced meat melts in the mouth. There is an old lady down the street, and an old buzzard across the street that are pretty much shut-ins with Covid running its course, we fixed them up with Cherry pie and brisket, they are very grateful and good neighbors to have. The guy across the street is Ironically named Dennis, but he acts more like Mr. Wilson on Dennis the Menace. đHe is a good guy though. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5c/Veteran_character_actor_Joseph_Kearns.jpg

Shweetie picked up some cheddar braughts, chips, sodas and baked some home made cookies. Will and I dug a fire pit in the back yard and lined it with rocks. He's gathering wood to build a fire now.

Just pulled the Boston Butt off the smoker at 208. Meat is falling apart. A well executed 10 hour smoke if I do say so.

That brisket looks awesome. Thanks Paddy, What really made a difference, (besides having a great piece of Brisket to start with) Was using Steve Raichlen's method. barbecuebible.com/2015/08/07/brisket-made-easy/These changes really are a game changer for me.
