This is what your referenced article is about. cole.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/cole-and-bishop-introduce-fda-deeming-authority-clarification-act-2017The above has nothing to do with any pending lawsuits and it will be years before those lawsuits are heard. Those suits were filed as a last ditch we have to at least try something even though its to late to really change anything because we "F'd" up and never did anything when something could have been done type of lawsuits. Lawsuits, along with HR564 introduced on 1/13/2017 and HR662 introduced on 2/6/2015 will go nowhere. Both of those HR's were sent to the Energy and Commerce Committee and HR564 will go along the same route as HR662 and end up be passed to the Subcommittee on Health and anyone who thinks any committee or subcommittee that has anything to do with health will do anything in favor of tobacco is nuttier than a forest full of oak trees. It is good to have hope but its also good to realize that what is in place now will most likely never actually be changed. BTW on a side note in the last year or so big tobacco has been quietly buying up the vape industry because it was eating at there profits. All the FDA regulation did was make it easy for them to buy up and control the vape industry.

I gotta say, I used to make a living making/selling ejuice until the FDA regulated. I don't anymore because I don't carry the necessary licences. That's where my username came from. Vaping saved my life six years ago. Stopped cigs (analogs) the moment I saw my mother die of lung cancer. Piping and vapes will keep me alive for my children.

I wrote respectful and well thought letters to both my senators, congressman, and the president asking to rescind or move against the FDA rules...not a single letter reply, email, or phone call in response (and I gave them all them options on my letterhead and sig line).....the whole lot of them aren't worth a bucket of piss.

Funny, I had the same experience. Big tobacco has enough money to buy votes. Sad and hopefully not true.

I have enough tobacco on hand to get me to the next phase. No worries here. Cellar deep, wide, both and live happy.

Yeah.... I have a great cellar also, let the future generations smoke Captain Black!😉
What if your home was a total loss in a fire, and your cellar was toast... Would you be content with current production Grabows and Captain black grape?

Yes, I agree. I heard that advice five years ago and that a mason jar is your friend. I have around 45 jars, all about 5 to 10 years aged. Still adding to that thanks to the great advice I receive here. Grateful to you all.

Would you be content with current production Grabows and Captain black grape? Somebody else is probably going to end up with much of my cellar one way or the other, my gift to future generations. If the house sparks, I have four tins of OGS, ABF, a bag of Penzance and a nice meer in a fire proof safe. The rest will create a lovely tin note across seven states. As long as somebody is still making MMs someplace, I'll be fine. Tobacco has been traded for centuries. I'm not worried for myself or future generations.

Oh, I don't disagree that people won't still be able to get tobacco, but if the implementations of the FDA mandates go forward unabated, the choices for our kids and grandkids will be severely restricted compared to what we enjoy, and they will pay substantially more for them sad choices. And, I would be willing to bet that will be a further winnowing of future pipe smokers and cigar smokers that in turn, will just result in an even easier group to marginalize and heap more taxes upon.
Greg Pease told me that in effect, he will be out of business as his blends disappear, Joe Lankford the same, and I am sure that it will have a dramatic effect on availability of Russ Oulette's blends... there are plenty of others that will be affected.
