I never get a Flu Shot. I figured it was just another scare ploy to make more money off us poor common folk. I still don't believe in them but I will never go another season without getting one. If it even has the smallest chance of stopping what I am going thru right now it is worth the risk. 1 night in the emergency room and 6 more days unable to basically move is just not worth making a stand on Flu Shots. Today is the first day I can even hold my head up to type and read the forums. Smoking a bowl seems a year away.

I have learnt that the best way to avoid the flu is to avoid people

I take BHT everyday as part of a health regime. BHT strips the lipid coat off of any lipid coated virus. This includes, the flu, herpes, west nile virus, cytomegalovirus etc. It is very well researched and very safe. An average adult can easily take 1g per day. Myself, I take about 600 mg.
Beware though if you google this. You will see a lot of moron researchers talking about how dangerous it is. If you actually read their research you will see that typically they would give animals the equivalent human dose of 10 to 80 grams.. and then say how toxic it is. Reminds me of tobacco research!! The Canadian version of the FDA published a large report on BHT and the "No Observed Adverse Effects Limit (NOAEL) was about 1g per day for an adult. This NOAEL means absolutely nothing bad was found.
BTW, BHT also extends the mean lifespan of most animals it has been tested on.
The CDC is extremely dishonest in their propaganda they use for inducing people to get the flu shot. They will often report that they tested x amount of people that had the flu shot and only a small percent actually got the flu. What they fail to do is test people that DID NOT get the flue shot and report the percent of people that did not get the flue. Only when you compare the "got the shot" with people that didn't can you make a proper assessment of the efficacy of the flu shot.

Randy, I'm not trying to derail the thread, but have you ever heard of fishmox? That's another interesting find indeed.

Randy, I'm not trying to derail the thread, but have you ever heard of fishmox? That's another interesting find indeed. I have heard of it but it is an antibiotic so it would do nothing for the flu. I bought a large supply of amoxicillin a few years ago and store it in the freezer for emergency purposes. BHT is very well researched and documented for its ability to destroy the lipid coat off of viruses.

as a member of the National Guard hubby is given a flu shot every year, he doesn't get a choice, and every year it makes him sick. one year they gave him the flu shot along with several vaccination boosters, and it stirred up his mono. he was fatigued and had aches and pains for two months. I agree with antb, stay away from people

I'm aware it's worthless on the flu...my point was supporting yours in that not everything is what it seems. At least when the CDC is involved.

I get the flu shot every year. Never any problems. I see it as part of my civic duty, herd immunity and all.

I am beginning to think that Flu Shots have created a super bug. I cannot believe how this thing has still got its hooks in me. 10 days since first symptom and I still can't return to work. If I see a chicken I am running the other way for fear someone might turn it into broth.

All of my clients are hospitals or surgery centers. If I want to do site visits, a flu shot is a requirement. I have never got sick from the flu shot and (knock on wood) I have not had a bout of the flu as long as I have been getting the shots.
Then again, I used to eat dirt and boogers when I was a kid. I'm a firm believer in that having done more for my immunity than any shots.

My job at a nursing home requires me to have a yearly flu shot...and every year when the flu makes it rounds through every unit of my facility..i can count on maybe 30% or residents getting quite sick..maybe 20% of the staff gets sick but no where near as sick as the residents..that's just my anecdotal observation when it come to flu shots.

Thought I had effen malaria! It was after that that I started avoiding people
