My wife prefers that I smoke Latakia in the house. She only complains that her eyes burn when I smoke an aro. If I couldn't smoke in the house I would give it up. Latakia blends do seem to burn cooler than non-lat blends to me.

Have not picked up a pipe since May. June-Oct is just too darn hot here on the Space Coast of Florida. I'm talking bout HOT. Like too hot to swim. Sometimes we'll get a little cool breeze in October but the past few years it has stayed hot and humid into November.

The summers here in the Sierras are hot and dry. 90-100 and no chance of rain. Always a chance of fire. If you smoke outside it's gotta be early in the morning or late at night, as temperature generally don't get below 70. I'll smoke a little less in summer just cause I refuse to get up early enough to have a smoke, and if do, my wife has me watering the plants instead. So for me, in the Summer, I smoke Virginias. Or, light aromatics. Sakura, Lakelands, so something like that. Besides, those are the only tobaccos she'll let me smoke inside. God forbid I should light up a Latakia blend. I'll hear about it for days. where are you located? I live just outside of Reno in a little town called Fernley. The fire smoke has been terrible this year.

I found that I end up waiting until the evening before firing up (unless I'm up very early and it's still cool), but usually lighter virginias with a bit of burley. I try to avoid the serious aromatics because of the higher level of casing.
And everything gets tempered with something cold to drink.

Sadly for the most part I don't smoke while its hot out. I get the occasional smoke during the virtual pipe club, but I shouldn't even be doing that in the house. I'm ready for summer to be over...

Know the area a little bit (Lime Kiln). There is a vet and kennel there that is absolutely fantastic. People bring their dogs there from all over the region. We left our dog there a couple of times and they are extremely well cared for. They have a great reputation.
