Hey there everyone!
My name is Logan and I'm a woodworkin, airplane lovin, guitar playin, pipe smoker livin in Tulsa, Oklahoma (but grew up in Southwest Missouri).
I've been smoking a pipe for about 2 years now and am just now got to a point where I've managed to have a consistently pleasurable smoke. I enjoy the pipe community very much and all things related to pipe tobacco. As my title states though, I don't really have the same affinity for briar and many of you fine smokers do. Part of it may be my donkey head, part of it may be my lack of funds. Either way I am starting to get to the point where I'm considering getting an honest briar pipe to work on but that'll come when the time is right.
I love all tobaccos from English, Hot Pressed Virginies and a few well-blended Aros. Honestly. I have yet to find a tobacco that I don't really care for and I'm not really the worlds best critic, but that's just par the course as far as I can tell; although I certainly enjoy the minutiae and subtleties of the different tobaccos.
My favorite Pipe is my bent Missouri Pride and straight Washington
My favorite tobacco right now is Presbyterian but have been enjoying the summer flavor of Escudo as of late.
Thanks for reading and I can't wait to meet you all!
Thanks, Logan W.

Welcome to the forum, and cob smokers are well represented here. A cob is admittedly not my go to pipe, but for plenty of others it is!
I worked on Oklahoma farms as a kid during some summers down around Hunter and I wouldn't trade that experience for the world. Great people down there!

Welcome Logan, from SW Kansas. I spent a little time in Tulsa when I attended Seminary; not too far from the airport. An interesting town for sure. My favorite cob is a MM/C&D Charles Towne Cobbler. A great smoking pipe with a generous sized bowl. Enjoy your time here, good folks and lots to learn.

Welcome! I haven't been in years but Ted's in Tulsa was a pretty good Pipe Shop. I’m very lucky to have Ted’s! Although I need to get around to asking if they have a pipe club. He has a few bulk English blends that are really spectacular.

Welcome from Ireland. I hope you have a good time here.
If you're going to go into briar, you could check out Morgan Bones pipes. They aren't expensive at all. Over here they are around £30 but they are great pipes.
That said, you can't go wrong with a cob either.
