I've really been enjoying Kendal Flake lately. I'm a bit confused about what that type of tobacco is called. I've heard them referred to as "aromatic," as "lakeland," and as "English style aromatic." Are there other names? And which of these would be considered the most common descriptor? I'm not a big aromatic smoker -- usually when I have an aro craving I smoke either BCA or SWR Aromatic.

I don't think i would call it an aromatic. There's a slight lakeland scent to it (IMO), but not overpowering. I don't think I'd call it an English either. You're right - it's difficult to categorise. Tobacco Reviews calls it an aromatic.

I would not call it an Aromatic Blend but it certainly smells nice.
To me it is an English Flake or Lake District Flake or Lake Flake.

But...It is an aromatic. It's cased with a lot of flavoring agents, mainly almonds, just like Ennerdale Flake. And it's one of my favorite G & H tobacco (with Ennerdale and Best Brown #2). They are called 'Lakeland' simply because the factory is located in the Lake District.

To me it's not a Lakeland unless it smells like an old ladies knitting club.

Is Kendal Plug a similar blend? If you're referring to SG's Plug, it's their Best Brown Flake in a Plug cut.
