Over the years, I've been kind of all over the place when it came to pipes purchasing. Meaning, I was buying a lot, and a lot of brands. It seems I have found a niche with Northern Briars and gladly settled into it for the last couple of years. I thought I would share a photo of the pipes I own. A modest number but they are pipes that I am extremely satisfied with. On the left row there are Peterson, Stanwell and Savinelli. The rest, besides the obvious corn cobs, are all Northern Briars. Hope you will enjoy. If you fell like sharing your own collection here, don't be shy.

That's an impressive selection. Just wait...a year on the Patch and your collection will triple in size.
Don't say you weren't warned.

Very nice collection of pipes.
I have had a greater number of pipes in the past...the older I get, the more I give some of my pipes away. Usually to younger pipe smokers so that the pipes that I cherished could go on living after I have passed away. To my good friend and mentor AJ I gave most of my Comoy pipes from Traditions to Selected straightgrains and Blu Ribands. To my good friend and brother, Josh, I gave several of my beloved Briar Spirit pipes. While I loved all of those pipes, they gave me much pleasure, I wanted them to go on giving so I gave them away. While I missed them I got greater joy in giving them away....cementing the friendship and giving me great joy.
I mention this only to give some of you something to consider as you look at pipes that you don't smoke anymore. You can give those pipes new life and meaning by giving them away before they turn into "garage sale" items that your family has to deal with when you are no longer here.

Many thanks, gents. I'm with Walt on donating pipes we don't smoke anymore. I donated a lot of pipes to people that send them to soldiers and veterans and I've taken great pleasure in doing such a thing. It's, personally, a cause I deeply believe in. As I also age, I seem to prefer to keep a smaller rotation; but one with which I can enjoy all my pipes on a regular basis. I don't know if there's a dedicated thread for personal collections. If not, I think it would be a good idea for others to chip in by sharing their own. If one already exists, a Mod can simply merge mine with the other.

“ If you fell like sharing your own collection here, don't be shy. ” Yours are so clean, mine are not and in piles... not a chance in China that I would display mine!

I think the secret is 'maintenance', Boss. As I only buy new & unsmoked pipes I invested good money in each of them. Which is a strong motivation to keep them seaworthy.

Uploaded the wrong photo for the Milverton. It's a P'Lip, not a fishtail.

Thanks for the peek at some really fine pipes!!! Even non-smokers can look at a display like that and come away with a better understanding of our hobby.

Is the recent collection growth related to the length of time you've been a member here?
Those pipes are gorgeous.
