What do you do while smoking the pipe?

I live alone, so get to smoke inside, which means I'm in front of my pc. So, surfing and computer games it is. This is why I prefer slow paced or defacto turn-based games, like flight simulator, or submarine games, or 4X games like X3:Terran Conflict. Shooters and combat flight sims don't allow me to smoke. I can also do backgammon or WWII ship combat; anything where I'm not in a hurry.

I have to smoke outside, so I normally take time to think, when smoking by myself. Otherwise I would be with the wife and chatting to her.

It's great having a pipe-buddy to smoke with. I miss those times in uni when we went for a pipe and a pint together.

Sit on the porch, mostly cigars nowadays, I can see my neighbors rice field, farm beyon has a donkey, love his braying, my Old Acadian has a small farm road in front, farm equipment passes, trucks, across the field are 2 wood duck boxes, in the fall I see the hatchlings sometimes fall out the box. When the wind picks up a tall row of pines my uncle planted sing me a wind song. I love my porch.

I'm an inside only pipe smoker and this is a favorite after a busy summer we enjoy the cooler, shorter days. Most of the time we're sitting around at night noodling on the computer and watching TV or a movie with a scotch and a pipe with the fireplace on. I've been enjoying 3 zoom pipe groups weekly since last spring too.

I usually sit on the covered patio on the back of my house and do nothing but enjoy the day and the smoke and let my mind wander.
Started smoking just this last April so much of the time I'm taste testing one of the many tobaccos I've purchased, trying to determine if it's a keeper or not.
Occasionally there is a squirrel or hummingbird or people to watch. Started leaving a apple slice out for the squirrel.
Sometimes I sit on the patio at the front of the house and chat with the wife.
Now that it's getting too cold/windy, I'm going to be smoking in the attached garage at my work bench.

I smoked a lot this summer while driving in the nighttime on the mountain roads near my family place. It really adds a magic touch to the atmosphere . Plus, it keeps you awake!!

In the mornings I come to the patch to see what"s up and have a smoke and some coffee, then I'll head out to the porch to plan my day...it's evening before I return to my pipes, to let me evening meal settle , and if I'm lucky ,I'll find myself back here checking on you folks...if not , T.V. ,music, or a good book all go well with an evening pipe.
The cooler temps of fall make the porch swing a welcome spot for a nice quite smoke and a cold drink. I've never been one to work with a pipe in my mouth.

This is an interesting thread, Dom. Bet you're the only one that tries to smoke while washing the dishes!

It seems a lot of you want quiet contemplation. This is torture to me; I like action and adrenaline. If I go on vacation, I want to do all the things - not the guy who sits on the beach and watches the birds.

I am usually in my big overstuffed chair either reading a book (a real physical book), or sometimes listening to an audio book. I try not to be near a computer, and I try to keep my cell phone at a distance. I also like to listen to classical music. I am on a Scarlatti kick right now. I have a complete set of his keyboard sonatas, which are about 555. It is a stack of CDs! I have listened to a lot of them but nowhere near most of them. Old friends and new friends.

I do smoke while doing stuff, but smoking is never more enjoyable than when it is while I am avoiding doing stuff.

I don't reload ammo while I'm pipe smoking, but that's about it.
