I have friends that dont smoke, but they think its cool that I do. Sometimes they'll be somewhere and bring me back a cigar. Knowing nothing about the subject, it is a source of great humor to me seeing what they randomly choose.
I had someone bring me a cigar the other day infused with absinthe. I dont have it in front of me, and I dont remember the brand, but I know Im hesitant to smoke it!
Usually is something like a Java Latte or a Nub, because they like the sound of the name, or coffee is something they can relate to.
It doesnt happen to me with pipe tobacco though. I can just imagine all of the cherry, vanilla, pumpkin spice stuff that would show up if they did try. 😅😆😬

Fortunately I have few friends (mostly dog) with the exception of Josh (whom I am starting to forget remembering what he looks like ), one other lives in N. Carolina and while we have been friends for several years we have never met...was hoping to change that last year when we were going up to Ky. to visit with wife's sister, but schedules didn't match. So, I don't have the problem that Bigwoolie has...only friends I have are right here on the Patch.

Most people don’t smoke nowadays, and most I imagine wonder why anyone would smoke thanks to the actions of the Philip Morris/ Reynolds tobacco organizations, and the relentless attacks by the anti- tobacco forces that have considerable influence on opinions.
In a culture where marijuana is becoming more and more acceptable, I find it kind of funny.
Having said all of that, most of my friends see no problem with people that choose to smoke a natural product, especially when they see that To me a pipe isn’t getting a “fix”.

Fortunately the only friend that counts is my wife and she puts up with and sometimes takes an interest in my obsession with pipes and cigars.

The majority of my friends who know I smoke a pipe, also smoke a pipe. Apart from that, I keep it pretty low-key.

A friend brought me a Cain Straight Ligero yesterday. I suspect they chose it because of the bright red metal tube it was in. ☺
Whatever the reason, Im glad they did. Im really liking it.

I'm usually a low key, solitary pipe-smoker. I rarely smoke around others, but I do have one friend who shares my interests with pipes, tobaccos, and smoking. He's much younger than I, and spends $$$$ like a drunken sailor. I turned him on to the world of pipes and tobaccos, and the art of relaxing with a pipe. Guess who gets to sample all the different tobaccos he orders. It's nice to be the king!
Most of my friends don't smoke. Anyone who has sniffed my tobacco smoke, loves it. I have never been told by anyone, that my pipe-tobacco smoke, stinks.

About 35 years ago we had a cigar smoking neighbor who we loved. I went to Dunhill's store and bought him a box of 25 cigars using the cigar keepers recommendation. He cursed me for ruining his usual 25 cent cigars. They were about $3 each in 1984 dollars.

None of my friends smoke a pipe. Or cigarettes for that matter.
One of the reasons I love this place.

One of my buddies recently returned from the DR. He know I love cigars (besides a pipe) and picked up a box of Cohibas. He was so excited when he presented me with a box and I didn’t have the heart to tell him they were counterfeit. Whoever made these cigars used bad primings and leftovers as the tobacco was still wet, the bands weren’t put on correctly and the color was off. Bottom line:my buddy got ripped off but appreciated the fact he thought of me while on vacation.
