My pal Ben dropped by over the weekend ,and gave me a matched pair of 8pk pipe racks. Ben's forever finding pipes and pipe related items. These racks are a tad taller than most I've seen, with a half inch more space between the upper and lower slots; they work real nice for some of my longer pipes.
I replaced two racks that held unused tobacco jars ,but only fourteen pipes and not only picked up some extra space ,but gave my wall unit a new look as well.

Ben seems like a nice guy. Do you have any photos of them? Ben IS a nice guy, and a very good friend. He's the reason I have my one and only Dunhill, part of a twelve dollar yard sale lot ,he gave me for my birthday some years back; it's a 62 shell briar and came with an ash tray and three old beaters. Some time ago, I was checking into a local hospital, and just as the nurses were popping me in a bed , Ben shows up with a Kroger bag full of 7 Carey pipes and a rack...the staff went nuts, but Ben explained that it was one of the few things that might make me feel better...they still made him leave, but it's a cool story anyway. |
