Read about a High School kid working at Kroger’s saving for a car, old man comes in, has to put some food back, not enough money, kid gives his 35$ so Old Man can have the food. My eyes watered, damn he was raised right!

There was this old boy long ago, kind of an itinerant preacher/rabbi. He used to talk about doing that and encouraged others.

That's a very rare thing in this world. Last year there were a couple highschool girls in the coffee shop. One didn't have enough money. So the one girl gave her friend money leaving her short now. I was impressed. I called her into line with me and bought her coffee and cookie. I told her that she did a good thing for her friend.

I don’t want accolades but long ago I was in line and paying for my groceries, young girl behind me holding a baby, as I was bagging I saw the cashier make her put her pampers back , I asked cashier why, she said not enough money, told d cashier put them back, asked young lady you need anything else, baby food she said, go get it I said, she did, my heart was pounding, reminded me of my daughter, it was the right thing to do. Troubled me a lot.

I always try to help when I see a need like that. It's just what decent people do. It's not the governments job, it's ours.

Wise words indeed. We could all use a little kindness especially during these troubling times.

Having someone lift a hand to help is a wonderful thing.

I always try to help when I see a need like that. It's just what decent people do. It's not the governments job, it's ours. Same here. I have been blessed beyond measure, and it is nice to help others out. I have supported an orphange in Uganda for years, that is really making a difference in the lives of kids that I could not comprehend how unfortunate their start in life has been, but they are excelling in their lives and accomplishments, and that is rewarding to an inestimable degree! “Therefore but by the grace of God that I wasn’t born into the same circumstances” My cousin is running the orphanage, so I know that it is ran by people with the right intentions. Not to toot my own horn, I lack nothing in the blessings that come my way.

Have not done as much as used to do. I do very little giving anymore. Got pretty jaded the last few years. Good to hear some of you have your heart in the right spot. Good reminder to me to do better.

A kind word, or a simple gesture of helping out is profitable for both parties.

I give what I can when the urge strikes me. I have never missed the money no matter how broke I was at the time. Just blessed I guess.

A mistake, poor health, or bad turn of events can leave any of us in desperate straits. It's a terribly sad thing to be in want. As time goes by I realize more each day that life can turn on a dime, and how I'm thankful just for having food and a roof over my head. And, toilet paper.
It's easy to complain, but then, just take a good look around..... and you'll count your blessings.
Now....I pray a lot more than I did when I was younger, more foolish, and sure good times would never end.
All things pass. Only God never changes.
