Very new pipe enthusiast here from Wisconsin. I've just only begun exploring pipes within the last few months - I've had a pipe for a couple of years and always meant to start learning and exploring, but never quite got around to it aside from a smoke every 4-6 months, if that.
Right now I am starting to explore what I envision to be "better" tobacco than the odd pouch or two that I'd pick up from the local corner store. I am currently smoking Picayune by Daughters and Ryan and I am really enjoying it. I have three more blends on the way by that same company and am pretty excited to try them.
I have a lot to learn and I am happy to have found this forum as I start on my pipe smoking journey. I am really intrigued by the thought of crafting my own pipes and will probably be asking a million questions in the pipe making section in the distant future.
It's great to meet everyone! Happy smoking!

Welcome from Ireland. We've a few new members recently, who seem to have settled in well. I hope you stick around and feel part of the furniture. If you've any questions, just ask.

Welcome to Patch. Dive right in, the This Briar doesn’t hurt! You have a great pipe shop in Milwaukee. Uhle’s. And they do ship. uhles.com/. There are some great pocasts out there also. The Pipes Magazineradio show. Brian Levin is very respected i. The community. Country Squire Radio. John David Cole. Owns the shop inJackson, MS. They also ship. Pipes and Tamper is the newer kid on the block, but does a great show also. And don’t forget Youtube. A lot of how to and tobacco reviews to be found here. Then if your realllllyyyyy brave. You can ask a question here on the Patch. You may get 101 answers that in the end all come back around to the same result! Or you may find out that The current political debates, have nothing on the debates you’ll see here! 😝 Joking aside. You have about a 1000 years worth of knowledge here. So ask away. Enjoy your new journey!

Welcome from the PNW. I’m also a newbie to this site, about two weeks and enjoying every minute of it! Yes, ask lots of questions as knowledge is power! Also, check out some of the threads on this site: tobaccos and pipes, preloading etc as this will get you on your journey to all things pipe. You’ll find there’s something for everybody and may make some friends along the way. Cheers......

adding greets/welcomes from 50miles East of Buffalo, NY. Others have said the details better. REALLY old-timer in the hobby, close to having "seniority". Enjoy the journey

Thanks to isett2860 for the shop recommendation in Milwaukee. I'm less than an hour away, so someday I will go check it out!

You have ventured to the perfect forum for a newbie!
I found the patch only about a week after I had my first “real” bowl of tobacco. At this point, I feel pretty well seasoned and its all thanks to my learnings here.
Enjoy the reading, and the journey!
